If I order online from the BeWrite Books store, how and when will my paperback arrive?

Once you place an online order the details are immediately and automatically relayed to the distributer nearest to your address who will expertly package the book/s at once and dispatch by the quickest possible means.

What is an ebook? How do I download it and read it?

An ebook (electronic book) is a faithful, digital representation of the paperback, but it is intended to be read on the screen of a PC, laptop, netbook, palm-held, one of a range of special ebook-dedicated reading devices like the Sony Reader, Barnes & Noble’s Nook and Amazon's Kindle, or even on an iPod or mobile phone. Now also on Apple's groundbreaking iPad tablet computer/ebook reader.

Because of lower production cost, BeWrite Books will always offer its ebooks at a much lower cover price than the paperback version.

All our ebooks can be immediately and safely downloaded from the BeWrite Books store in their PDF format (complete with colour cover and illustrations, where those may be included) and will be ready to read usually within five minutes. We are also taking time to convert all BB books to the popular and fast-becoming standard ePub format, so please be sure that you download the file best fitted to your needs. If you make a slip – no big problem – let us know and we’ll fix it for you within twenty-four hours at no charge. You will need a one-time download of the Adobe Acrobat eBook Reader™ to open PDF files, but that is freely available on the internet (or simply by clicking on the Adobe Reader icon in the left hand margin of this page) and is safely installed to your machine in moments. We recommend Calibre Library for ePub files: another free download from the net. Ebooks will occupy merely between 500Kb and 2Mb of space, depending on page count and whether illustrations are included. In other words, relatively little. Ebook formats other than PDF and ePub are available through our US partners, Smashwords.

They can be stored for your enjoyment indefinitely.

BeWrite Books is opposed to Digital Rights Management. This is a ‘padlock’ some ebook publishers and retailers put upon their ebooks. It is in place, supposedly, to combat piracy. In fact, it penalises the honest buyer and reader by restricting the use if the book s/he has purchased, making it impossible to be read on any but one or two registered reading platforms and putting out of bounds the perfectly reasonable desire for a reader to share his purchase with friends and family, just as s/he might wish to pass around a paperback or hardback s/he’s enjoyed. So all BeWrite Books ebooks bought in any format from the BeWrite Books bookstore are guaranteed DRM-free. This is because we have trust in our readers as they have trust in us. We do hope that you will share your ebooks, but we also hope you will not attempt to make a commercial business out of it.

BeWrite Books’ entire catalogue of titles is also available in other digital formats for use on any viewing platform from many of our third-party retailers. How secure is my online payment?

Very. We have chosen a reputable store host and payment gateway. Your personal details are entered into our secure website and all payment processing is handled by PayPal. We do not keep your credit card details on file .

What is your pricing policy?

Our base currency is US dollars, but customers are given the option of paying in their local currency. If the account you use to pay for your goods is in US dollars, UK Sterling or Euros, we pay any conversion costs, not you. If your account is in any other currency, your bank may charge a small conversion fee. Please note that, when ordering paperbacks, the cover prices printed on the back of the books are for 'offline' sales only. To ensure the best value for money for our internet customers, the price you pay is determined by the exchange rates to the base currency on that very day.
