Tom Larsen was a journeyman printer
for twenty-five years before scrapping it all for the writer's life.
His work has appeared in Newsday, New Millennium Writing, Puerto
del Sol and Antietam Review. His short story "Lids" was
included in Best American Mystery Stories - 2004. Tom and his wife,
Andree spent a decade in the Pennsport section of South Philadelphia
and the experience proved invaluable in crafting characters. "For
a writer, Pennsport was a casting gold mine. No pretense, no rhetoric,
just real people saying what they mean." During their time
in Pennsport Tom's screenplay Best Laid Plan was optioned by Benjamin
Productions where it may be yet. In 2005 he rewrote the screenplay
into the novel Flawed. Tom and Andree presently make their home
in Lambertville, New Jersey.

'Brass
Balls' Riley is leading a settled life when a friend from
his youth re-appears with a scheme to make one, last, big
score. Riley carries off the caper with the not-altogether
helpful assistance of his criminally impaired wife and their
friend. Can the wily and resourceful Riley keep one step ahead
of the police, the FBI, and the special investigators hired
by the victim?
This is an intriguing tale, told primarily from Riley's point
of view, reminiscent of Raymond Chandler in style. Beautifully
crafted, it takes the reader into Riley's mind and his surroundings
sympathetically and humorously. A first rate read.
