The Cube Root of Time
The Cube Root of Time by Herbert Cohen

Hidden in CIA agent Denis Slater's safe is an ancient reliquary found in the ruins of an old English abbey. In a secret compartment, embedded in a thousand years of rust, lies the definitive proof of the Lowenstein experiment, the astounding evidence of the CIA's greatest secret.

Brilliant young physicist Ira Lowenstein claimed to have developed a method of time travel, and offers it to the government; his only proviso, that he first use it for a trip back in time to uncover a family secret. But once they've seen that it works, the CIA insists on having it immediately. The order goes out to arrest Lowenstein.

Now Ira must play a deadly game of cat-and-mouse to start his mission. A mission that will take him back to World War II New York, an arrest for treason and an audience with a dying president that will rewrite the course of world history.

Herbert Cohen's THE CUBE ROOT OF TIME is a well crafted ingenious thriller; a successful blend of science fiction, espionage and romance.

… A time travel scenario as plausible as any - and a novel so strong that science buoys the story but doesn't overwhelm. This book - and Herbert Cohen - deserve our deepest regards. Baryon Magazine 95

THE CUBE ROOT OF TIME is one of the most well written books I have read in a long time. Cohen is a fabulous writer. His dialogue and narration makes for a wonderful read. The story is wonderful with just enough science and science fiction to make you wonder if some of it isn't true. I say read this at your very earliest convenience. It makes you think. Great book Mr Cohen. Jeannie Langston SFF world.com
